Mr. Bassam has over a decade of national and international banking, finance, tax, and advisory experience in compliance, regulatory matters, and strategic planning. He advises clients on a broad range of U.S. and international tax planning matters, with a focus on estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax compliance, business succession, and legacy planning for high-net-worth families, family offices, and families with special needs children. He has acted as a subject matter expert to Da Afghanistan Bank (DAB), Afghanistan’s central bank, in regulatory policy development and has been directly involved in helping numerous banks oversee compliance, audit engagement, corporate governance, and risk management initiatives.
 

Mr. Bassam started his professional career at Morgan Stanley—one of the largest investment banks in the world. There, he developed expertise in U.S. public equities through extensive work in research, analysis, compliance, governance, and investment management. Prior to founding A.Y.Bassam & Co. LLP, he held leadership and advisory roles across domestic and international markets, including consulting engagements with the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank, and later served as Managing Partner at Moore Global (formerly AHG), a distinguished accounting and advisory network. He is also the Co-Founder of Arden and Bassam Partners, a firm specializing in the convergence of financial markets, banking, and sustainability.
 

Mr. Bassam is a graduate of Harvard University, where he earned a Master’s degree in Economics, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management from the University of Phoenix. He is currently pursuing a Juris Doctor (JD) at The Colleges of Law. He also holds a California Life Insurance Producer license (#865458). In addition, he serves on the Board of Directors of the Tri-Counties Association for the Developmentally Disabled (TCADD), chairs the Board of Shawn’s Blue Bench, and is a member of the Rotary Club of Simi Valley.
